President Hashim Thaci commenting on summons the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) sent to ex-KLA members to appear before this international court dealing with alleged crimes committed during the war in Kosovo, urged former members of guerrilla army to respect the court and not avoid justice.
Thaci, who during the war was political representative of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) in a statement posted in his Facebook said the KLA war was just and called on all those summoned by the SPO to answer the invitations for justice. He said that justice should be delivered for all ethnicities. “Kosovo was a victim of Serbia’s aggression. Citizens of Kosovo, in their fight for freedom and independence, sacrificed their lives. Ethnic cleansing to proportions of genocide occurred in Kosovo. More than 13 thousand Albanian civilians were killed and around 20 thousand Albanian women were raped. Around 3000 thousand people went missing and about 40 percent of the infrastructure was damaged. Around 1 million Albanians were expelled from their houses and properties and all this inhuman campaign was applied by Serbia,” Thaci wrote. “Justice should be delivered to all, regardless ethnicity,” he noted.
