President Hashim Thaci says he is “very happy” with the new negotiation team in dialogue with Serbia appointed by the Government and headed by his political opponent, Fatmir Limaj. Deteriorated relations between Thaci and Limaj after the latter split Thaci’s former party PDK and established an new political entity, have been improved recently with Thaci saying on Monday that he trusts political experience of his former associate, turned into his main political adversary.
President Thaci in a media addressing today said he trusts the new team established the Government of Kosovo who will join chief negotiator Thaci in the EU-facilitated dialogue with Serbia. The Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has established last week a negotiation team headed by Limaj and composed by his deputies, in a bid to reduce Thaci’s power that until now was in charge to dialogue with Serbia. “I trust Mr. Limaj and the other part of the team and they will give a boost to the dialogue with their experience,” he said.
Thaci commented also statements of Serbian officials, including President Aleksandar Vucic who stated that they will not discuss with Limaj in Brussels. “It is Kosovo institutions who make the appointment and not he Belgrade,” Thaci said. After appointment of the new team, Limaj in a televised interview with T7 said that his team was established to reduce Thaci’s powers in dialogue with Serbia. /Express/
