Kosovo institutional leaders headed by President Hashim Thaci have travelled in Brussels today to meet with Serbian delegation in the frame of the final phase of dialogue with Serbia. The leaders are in Brussels without a clear platform on talks with Belgrade and without reaching an internal consensus on who should be leading the dialogue.
Officials in Brussels, who facilitate Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, as well as President Thaci gave no details of today’s meeting, Koha Ditore reports. The Prime Minister’s Office says that key topics expected to be discussed with Serbia are mutual recognition between the two countries. “The main topic will be mutual recognition between the two countries. Of course, there will be no talks on independence of Kosovo, its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” The Prime Minister’s Office told Koha Ditore.
Kosovo delegation headed by Thaci is composed of Speaker of Parliament, Kadri Veseli, PM Ramush Haradinaj and his three deputies, Fatmir Limaj, Behgjet Pacolli and Dardan Gashi.
European Union High Representative Federica Mogherini is expectd to meet today presidents of Serbia and Kosovo to discuss the progress achieved during the dialogue process. Her spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic said on Tuesday they would also discuss the next steps required to speed up the dialogue on normalizing relations between Pristina and Belgrade.
