US Ambassador to Kosovo, Philip Kosnett, in his opening remarks at the launching of the Anti-Corruption Week urged Kosovo Government to dismiss corrupt officials.
US Ambassador Kosnett said that good laws are not enough if not fully implemented. Addressing at the launch of Anti-Corruption Week in Kosovo, the US Ambassador said the Government should prove it is ready to punish corrupt officials. Kosnett commended the Parliament on adoption of reforms in the rule of law. “It’s obvious that this is not enough, good laws function only if equally implemented. Some systematically benefit from higher positions,” he said. “The Government now should prove it is ready to punish corrupt officials,” he said. “Courageous Leaders should be ready to ask their selves if they are ready to serve Kosovo or someone else.” Kosnett’s participation in a public event is the first after his appointment as the new US Ambassador to Kosovo.
