US Assistant Secretary Mitchell to Visit Pristina Today GazetaExpress

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell is expected to visit Pristina today as part of his tour in the region.

According to a statement issued by the U.S. Embassy in Pristina, on March 12 in Pristina, Wess will meet with senior Kosovo officials, including President Hashim Thaci, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, and other political and civil society representatives to reaffirm the close ties between Kosovo and the United States. “He will encourage the government of Kosovo to advance normalized relations with Serbia, strengthen the rule of law, foster economic growth, and overcome regional challenges in favour of stability and Western integration,” it is stated in the press release. Following his visit to Kosovo, Wess will visit also Skopje, Macedonia; Belgrade, Serbia; Athens, Greece; and Nicosia, Cyprus from March 12-17.
