The Association of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) veterans keep insisting that the Assembly of Kosovo should vote for abrogation of the Law on Specialist Chambers and Specialist Prosecution Office. The international Hague based court has been established to try alleged crimes of the KLA during Kosovo 1998-1999 war.
The representative of the KLA veterans Association, Faton Klinaku, called on Speaker of the Assembly, Kadri Veseli, to schedule a session enabling MPs to vote abrogation of the disputed law. “The Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, instead of writing opinions, should call an extraordinary session at the request of 1/3 of MPs, as foreseen by the law,” Klinaku said. He made these comments answering to an op/ed written by Veseli on Monday when he said that despite being unjust for Kosovo citizens, the Special war crimes court cannot be abrogated.
