Newly appointed minister of European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, received on Tuesday Head of the EU Office in Kosovo/EU Special Representative, Nataliya Apostolova, it is stated in a press release issued by Hoxha’s office.
Hoxha and Apostolova called on Kosovo citizens not to believe disinformation and migrate illegally because no EU country will grant asylum for Kosovo citizens, considering that Kosovo is a safe country of origin and its citizens cannot apply for asylum in any of the EU member countries. According to the press release, in case of illegal migration, rule of law bodies of each country at the EU Schengen area will take necessary legal measures on illegal crossing of border and they will be banned from entering Schengen area in the future.
During the meeting Hoxha informed Apostolova on her vision related to Kosovo’s EU integration path noting that Kosovo should fulfil the remaining technical criteria in order to get visa liberalization. On the other hand Apostolova emphasized that the EU is ready to help Kosovo in this process.
